The Bargain Beauty Queen

Today I bought the following 6 make-up products for $3.18!

Since moving back to my home town, I’ve noticed some new shops around & decided to check one out. The name: Bargain Hunt.

Those of you that know me personally, know that if it has any sort of price mark down involved I’m practically running to it. BUT YOU GUYS, this store is HUGE! This store takes clearance items or excess product from other retail stores when they need to make more room for new products (such as Target). Then, the day they receive it they put a date on it along with the retail price & also the Bargain Hunt price. IT GETS EVEN BETTER. They have a chart ranging from 10% – 90% off! Depending on the date on the sticker, you can save even more off of the Bargain Hunt price! In other words, the older the date the higher the percentage off!

Bargain Hunt vs. Retail Price: Make-up

Okay ladies, I got all 6 items for .50 EACH! My total was $3.18. Here are the retail prices I’ve found for each of the products I bought today! I decided to not go by the Target “Was” prices, because I wanted to do the most up to date prices I could find.

Individual Savings

  • Maybelline BB Cream: $6.29
  • Physician’s Formula Bronzer: $10.79
  • Physician’s Formula Organic Tinted Moisturizer: $10.19
  • Maybelline Volume Express Mascara (x2): $10.08
  • Covergirl Bombshell Mascara: $8.49
  • Pixi Fairy Dust Highligher: $4.50

Total Savings: $50.34

Essential Oils & Anxiety

I’ve almost always had anxiety, even as a child. Especially at night, sometimes it would get so bad to where I would lie in bed completely paralyzed in fear for no “real “reason. I’ve had to learn how to subside the anxiety along the way into adulthood.

This past year I turned 22 and received a really awesome gift I had been wanting to try out for the longest time! {Thanks Mom! & Aunt Melody for the oils on the right!}

I got an essential oil diffuser! The brand of the diffuser above is “Ellia”. Originally all of these items were bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Although I couldn’t find this diffuser on their website anymore, click here to find more information about it on Amazon.

So, what the heck is the point of using essential oils in a diffuser?

  • Less dangerous than using a lit candle
  • Relaxes the mind/body
  • Increases mood
  • Can improve cognition
  • Smells AMAZING!

Now, some of you may not believe in the whole essential oils thing and that’s completely fine! My question to you is: why knock it before you try it?!

My experience with them so far is that it has helped me fall asleep when I’m feeling anxious at night, instead of having to rely completely on a prescription.fullsizeoutput_705

The pack shown above includes Lavender, Peppermint, and Lemongrass.

Different oils/blends are used for different things, such as:

  • Lavender – calming, soothing, relaxing, comforting
  • Peppermint – cooling, refreshing, invigorating, energizing
  • Lemongrass – uplifting, purifying, cleansing
  • Let Go – calming, soothing, relaxing, clarifying
  • Be Centered – relaxing, clarifying, centering, calming, spicy
  • Pay Attention – clarifying, uplifting, centering, harmonizing

My go-to for sleep and warding off anxiety is Lavender or the Let Go blend. While studying, for an extra boost I use peppermint or the Pay Attention blend. If my mood is low I’ll use Lemongrass. If I’m just hanging out in my room watching TV or doing yoga, I’ll use Be Centered.

How it works

This is what the diffuser looks like taken apart. You simply fill the middle portion with water up to the water line on the inside. Then, place 5 – 7 drops and turn it on!

Color Changing

At night if you want a little light, you can also use the remote to keep it on one color or either have it continuously change!

This diffuser also includes a sound machine with 3 different sounds & a volume button.

After receiving this as a gift, I can honestly say I feel it has helped me ease my anxiety at night and improved my quality of sleep.

Meal Prepping: 4 Dinners

As a college student, I constantly feel like I’m drowning in my assignments & trying to make time for sleep/family/boyfriend. Life can be overwhelming! So, I decided to try meal prepping this week and I’m really excited about it so I thought I’d share! It’s a really simple recipe that has:

  • 2 skinless boneless chicken breasts
  • frozen broccoli
  • 1/2 red onion
  • cherry tomatoes
  • 1 zucchini

Although, I did season mine different by leaving out the Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes & instead used basil, oregano, and paprika, pink Himalayan salt and pepper.

Here is what it ended up looking like after I made it:fullsizeoutput_6fffullsizeoutput_700

Do you meal prep for the week? What’s your favorite to prep? What meal do you like to prep for the most?
